Hogan's Twins Sharing Mind and Body

Hogan sisters,Tatiana and Krista, 7 years old are the only people in the world known to share a neural bridge between their thalamus. Thalamus is  a part of the brain involved in the regulation of consciousness along with sensory and motor signals. They were born October 25, 2006. At birth the twins where given a 20% chance of survival. But the girls continue to defy the odds and moving beyond developmental milestones once thought impossible for them. Some of the usual medical problems affecting many pairs of conjoined twins also affect the Hogans the only known twins who doctors suspect can see what the other sees, and feel what the other feels. They can also taste what others taste. They were categorized as craniopagus twins .Craniopagus twins are conjoined twins who are fused at the cranium. Cephalic conjoining, or craniopagus twinning, represents the rarest of congenital abnormalities only accounting for 2-6% of all conjoined twins. Additionally, conjoined twins are genetically identical and always share the same sex. The union in craniopagus twins may occur on any portion of the calvarium, but does not include the face.
The thorax and abdomen are separate and each twin has its own. Some of the usual medical problems affecting many pairs of conjoined twins also affect the Hogan's twins. Despite being smaller and thinner, Tatiana's heart pumps for both of them and is  risk of enlargement and possible failure. Tatiana's heart also works twice to supply the brain's arterial system with blood. Over time, her heart rate has thankfully dropped and is much closer to Krista's, but the possibility of further complications as the twins age always looms. It was also discovered that when the twins slept, Tatiana would stop breathing for up to 20 seconds. A surgical operation was needed to remove the huge adenoids that were causing the problem, but when  it was observed that she was borrowing a large amount of blood to keep her going. The trouble with this was that Krista didn't have enough blood , which meant she had to be awake when Tatiana went under the knife. Although the girls are too young to get advanced scans, neuroscientists say the tests they have undergone describe them as “ridiculously compelling". If one of the girls is hurt, the other can feel it, and if you discipline one the other will also cry. They also explores the mystery of Tatiana and Krista’s connection. It reveals the hopes and dreams, hard decisions, daily challenges and personal triumphs of the Hogan twins and their family. With incredible access to their world, viewers experience important milestones in Tatiana and Krista’s lives and gain insight into what it might be like to navigate the future under such extraordinary circumstances.

But she adds that they are just like any other little girls. They’re two normal little girls who happen to go through life sharing a bubble.
